If Wes Anderson is going to make a movie, we are going to see it. ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ was one of the best movies of this year. Basic reports are coming out about his next film and I’m already in.

Everything else is icing on the 70s style cake. He wants regulars Bill Murray and Owen Wilson to return. Perfect! WA wants one-shots Adrien Brody, Willem Defoe, Edward Norton, and Jeff Goldblum to come back to Anderson-ville. Great! ‘Darjeenling Limited’ is a great film though it is the weakest Anderson movie, Brody knocked his performance out of the park. Defoe was a scene stealer in ‘Life Aquatic.’Norton and Goldblum made the most out of their supporting roles in Moonrise and Aquatic.
For new cast members he wants Jude Law. Law is a great actor and it will be interesting to see him in a WA film. My favorite bit of news is that he his looking to cast Angela Lansbury. I would kill to watch her in a WA movie alongside Murray.
The weirdest casting rumor is that he is looking for Johnny Depp for a role. Depp can sure play cookie, but understated is something that seems to have left his body in the 90s. I’m worried about this.
Nothing is known about the movie except Anderson being quoted as it being a film “I want to make in Europe… A euro film.” Whatever, I’m already buying a ticket.
So Pete, you got me thinking about if there could be a movie by Wes Anderson that I wouldn’t want to see, and I couldn’t think of any. A remake of The Godfather, Citizen Kane, or A Clockwork Orange made by Wes Anderson? I’d totally see that. Wes Anderson goes Mumblecore or Dogme 95, I’d be there…
