Movie 43 Red Band Trailer. NSFW

Movie 43 is a comedy anthology film coming out this January.  The trailer, gives off the impression that this was done on the shoestringiest of budgets, almost spoof-like,  but with the talent attached to this film it has to be 18128182 times better than anything those Epic/Disaster Movie, Vampire’s Suck, Meet The Spartans assholes come up with.

From the trailer I saw: Anna Faris, Chris Pratt, Emma Stone, Kieran Culkin, Terrence Howard, Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Liev Schreiber, Elizabeth Banks, Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott, Richard Gere, Chloe Grace Moretz, Kate Bosworth, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Jack McBrayer, and JB Smoove.  I’m probably missing one or two, but christ that’s an impressive grouping of people who seem to have no problem being in a raunchy comedy.

Fake Movie Friday – Kiss Cam

I made a Romantic Comedy.  Why?  Because they are easy as hell to make, and do well.

Kiss Cam is the latest romantic comedy from  Nicholas Stoller.  Kiss Cam stars Jason Segel and Natalie Portman.

The film opens up with a split screen shot of two couples, Ben and Michelle (played by Jason Segel and Elizabeth Banks), and Jane and Mike (played by Natalie Portman and Mike Vogel).  They are both rushing to get ready to go somewhere and we don’t really know where exactly.  Michelle doesn’t really want to go, and we see that Mike doesn’t either, but Ben and Jane are both pushing them to get ready faster.  Anyway they both get in the car and you can see they are both heading to Yankee Stadium.  When they arrive, Ben throws on a Derek Jeter jersey and Jane put on her green Red Sox cap and David Ortiz t-shirt.  It is clear these two are die-hard fans.  Anyway as they find their seats in the nosebleeds the split screen merges into one as they all sit down simultaneously next to each other.  As the game is going on we can see that Michelle and Mike really don’t have a lot of interest in the game.  Michelle thinks it’s boring, and Mike is texting and laughing at the response to the texts (we think he might be cheating).

Fake Movie Friday: Stop, Drop, and Roll

I had absolutely no idea what to do this week. Russ suggested this title for me and I tried. Enjoy.

Stop, Drop, and Roll

The film opens up as fire investigator Charles Leary, played by Jeremy Renner, is giving a speech about how fires spread. It’s a scary speech that goes into violent detail about the power of fire. The camera pulls back and we see he is in 3rd grade classroom and the kids are shocked. He looks at the disappointed teacher, played by Elizabeth Banks, as she shakes her head at him. The principal steps in and asks the classroom what to do if they are on fire and they all shout “Stop, Drop and Roll!”

Outside Leary is smoking staring at the lighter. Quick cuts of fires and burned people flash on the screen and he drops it. The teacher, Rachel Hunter, picks it up and gives it back to him and it is clear they are dating. They talk about how he has become burnt out (they actually use this term) and jaded from his job. Fire Trucks zoom by as his phone rings. It’s the chief, played by James Gandolfini, standing outside a burning warehouse and says, “Get down here Leary. He’s back.”
