This is a very exciting new comic book day. There’s been news of ‘Black Panther’, ‘Wonder Woman’, ‘Justice League’, and ‘Captain America 2.’ Also I may watch the ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ trailer over 20 times today. Let’s take a look at yet another suggestion of a comic that could jump from the page to the screen
Higher Earth
Even though it seems that ‘Prometheus’ is going to be a huge pile of disappointment, Sci-Fi is really coming back. A story like the one in Higher Earth could really hit with audiences looking for an engrossing “other world.”
There are many Earths and they have a hierarchy. The Earth we are first introduced to is used as a garbage dimension for a more advanced society. A mystery man arrives and finds a teenage girl who he is apparently on a mission to rescue. He takes her up to the next earth where they are now “illegals.” The series has a great deal of mystery surrounding both their identities. What sort of “Earth” is he from? She is clearly very important and does not remember where she comes from, perhaps kidnapped or lost at a young age. It’s the sort of high concept film that the Sci-Fi genre is heading towards. With “Looper” coming soon and film adaptations like “In Time” doing well, the bigger idea the better.

Oh I see, I just assumed from something called NEW Comic Wednesday you’d write about a new comic. MY BAD
