Jodorowsky’s Dune Poster

Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Dune is the greatest movie that was never made full stop. Jodorowsky’s Dune would have completely changed the science fiction genre as we know it, and it indirectly did have a huge effect, Dan O’Bannon was hired to do the effects and H.R. Giger was hired to do some designs, and when the film fell through, they hooked up to make Alien. That’s just one of the many crazy stories (check out the Dali stuff) that you can read HERE

I’ve been aware of the documentary about it for a while now, but there hasn’t been too many updates. There was this trailer from a year ago:

But now there is a poster, and it is beautiful:

I’m Disgusted by the Colorado Shooting

I wouldn’t feel right making a Fake Movie Friday today without addressing this at least in some degree.

James Holmes went into a midnight screening of The Dark Knight Rises, threw a gas canister into the crowd and opened fire on hundreds of innocent people.  He killed 12 people and injured dozens, including a fucking 3 month old child.

What is wrong this world that it is not even safe to go to a movie anymore?

At Movie Movie we bitch about movies like they actually matter all the time, and even go so far as to bitch about the fact that Bloomberg doesn’t want us to drink big sodas anymore.  When something like this happens so senselessly, it’s clear that our country often ignores the bigger issues. Normal people shouldn’t be able to have guns.   I know it’s the second amendment, but it was written with the thought that automatic weapons didn’t exist, so I’m sorry if my viewpoint infringes on those of others, but if James Holmes couldn’t have a gun, he couldn’t have killed 12 people and ruined the lives of many others and their families.

I love movies and the experience of going to a theater and for some young people, that is going to be something they never even think of doing as a result of this asshole.

I speak for all of us when I say our thoughts are with the victims and the families of the victims of the Colorado shooting. Hopefully something like this never happens again.

Fake Movie Friday: Death Hits

Here I am in Chicago, watching a 4 year old and 3 month old, dodging a thunder storm and of course writing my FMF! So here we go. This title probably has nothing to do with the movie.

Death Hits

Peter (played by Peter Smith) and Russ (played by Russ Stevens, or if he’s not available Hank Azaria) write for a semi-popular movie website with their friend Alex (played by Alex Kovios). Pete was the shining star of the website until Russ started to write more articles, receiving the most comments of any one, making Pete extremely jealous. Blinded by rage and alcohol Pete comes up with a plan to kill Russ. He writes it all out, then realizes how dumb he is being, laughs about it and goes to sleep.

Fake Movie Friday: Wife Sentence

Wife Sentence

Andy (Adam Scott) has just lost his job and is forced to move back to his hometown in New Jersey. While home he decides to look up his old high school ex girlfriend Kim (Ellie Kemper) who he broke up with on prom night for a more popular girl. She doesn’t seem to want anything to do with him. Then while out with his old best friend Sam (Jason Sudeikis) who has become a smarmy womanizer who loves seducing woman with low self esteem he convinces him that Kim should have been the one. Andy leaves Kim a drunken voicemail confessing his love and apologizing for making the biggest mistake of his life.

While recovering from his hangover and walking home from Sam’s someone dressed all in black runs out of a jewelery store carrying a bag of stolen merchandise and runs into him. They drop the bag and run off and Andy is left there holding the bag. The police come and don’t believe him and they arrest him for the robbery!

Andy is about to be sentenced when Kim shows up in court and offers to take custody of him. The judge releases him to her supervision saying if he doesn’t follow her upstanding lead he’ll be back in jail. Once in the car Kim reveals that she is the robber and turns on the crazy blaming Andy for turning her to a life of crime when he left her. But now she owns him and he has to make it up to her by becoming her partner, in crime AND MARRIAGE!

Andy becomes a nervous wreck and they become a bumbling Bonnie and Clyde. Andy’s probation officer, Officer Jamie has been taking a shine to him (played by Kristen Wiig). She knows what’s going on but won’t arrest him and just wants him to come clean to her but out of fear for the increasingly psychopathic Kim he won’t.

As the biggest heist Kim plans their wedding for town hall while gold bars are getting moved through there. During their vows while looking at Officer Jamie he confesses the whole thing. Both of them get arrested and we see at the end Andy and Jamie having a budding romance through the glass of a prison visiting room.

I’m Scared

I’m still afraid to watch ‘Shame.’ All I hear is how much it will make you hate sex and most things about your desires. So when news came out that the team behind it (writer/director Steve McQueen and star Michael Fassbender) are making “Twelve Years A Slave” a film about slavery, I nearly hid under my bed.
