The Justice League Roster is Set.

Batman.

Superman.

Green Lantern.

Flash.

Wonder Woman.

In 2015 when we get the Justice League movie DC and Warner Bros are desperate to get off the ground, we’ll be getting it without Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, or Hawkman.  Why? Because Warners doesn’t have enough time to shoehorn them into something.  I’m thinking a lot of their plans backfired when Green Lantern was a piece of a shit, so now they are too afraid to get these time-tested characters on screen first (a la Marvel with the Avengers).  Now they’ve pinned all of their hopes on Man of Steel being well-received so that can be the launch pad.  My advice to them: Don’t fuck this up. By the time we got Avengers we got a pretty stacked roster that is only going to expand with each subsequent film.  Why? Because Marvel did it right.  There is no shame in copying their template when BILLIONS of dollars are at stake.   Get more heroes on that team so it can really evoke that Gods of Olympus mentality the Justice League has long held.

At least get Martian Manhunter in there…

Fake Movie Friday: Pill Poppin’ Walkers

I feel like this is a bit too much Resident Evil influenced, but I did get the title from Colm so it makes sense. This weeks tale of deadly pharmaceuticals and the effect they have on children is titled:

Pill Poppin’ Walkers

Mundymeo Corp is a world-wide, multi patent holding, pharmaceutical company who have been designing a new pill for ADD. The results have been spectacular in lab animal tests but they haven’t been able to do human testing… until now. They pay off some school and start to administer evaluations to students, which will always end with them diagnosing the students with a mild to severe form of ADD and telling them about an experimental new drug treatment they could opt into.  Continue reading

Fake Movie Friday: One Step From Oblivion

I have the day off today. The internet and cable are not working. This is awful. So here is a sci-fi film, title courtesy of Brian Fitzpatrick. He also suggested “Dick Jones is Jonesing for a Dickings” but I decided this would be better.

Spring Breakers Trailer looks insane

I’m a huge Harmony Korine fan, so I would see this movie regardless. But after this trailer, I am insanely excited for it. Maybe awkwardly so…

Zack Snyder is developing a Star Wars Movie? Updated, maybe not

So it isn’t official yet, but the rumor is that Zach Snyder is going to be directing a movie in the Star Wars universe. Apparently it would be inspired by the Seven Samurai. Zach Snyder isn’t the most solid director ever, but It would be nice to see a visually compelling Star Wars movie for a change. Does this officially one of my predictions for 2013 correct? Damn I’m good. Thoughts?

Update:

Zack Snyder’s people has denied this is true saying to the Hollywood Reporter:

“While he is super flattered because he is a huge fan, Zack is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars. He is currently in post on his two films, Man of Steel and 300: Battle of Artemisia.”

Fake Movie Friday: Stargazer

Too often now a days I have no idea what to write and I just come back to writing the same movie I’ve written dozens of times before. So why should this week be any different?? I’m in some hot water at work right now, I’ll have to make this a quick one. Colm gave me some title suggestions, but I’m ignoring all of them. We also talked about the end of Mass Effect 3 and he mentioned the final scene and this character, so this movie will be titled:

Stargazer

We start in 2005, before the financial crisis. Jeff is the president of some big Wall Street firm that is doing incredible well. There are parties, lots of drugs, and it’s a crazy time. Jeff is going wild, everyone loves him, it’s a great time. Continue reading

Fake Movie Friday: Tampered Expectations

The great John Tiglias gave me this title. So I named the main character after him. It’s INDIE yo!

Tampered Expectations

Our main character John sits on his couch staring at the wall. Pacing back and forth in front of him his a Hannah. She is yelling at him, but we don’t see her face. We only get bits and pieces as the sound is going in and out, but it’s clear she is breaking up with him and moving out. Words like immature and aimless are heard. Sound clears up and she asks “are you even listening?” He only says “I can be better?” She laughs and walks away, as he actually says this as a question.

Fake Movie Friday: The Nexus

Uh oh, am I the first this week? Welp, after an overly caustic morning I’m going to try and write something super crazy in a short amount of time. I honestly have no energy right now but let’s try and make this work. Colm gave me the movie title of…

The Nexus

David is driving home from work on what can only be described, up until this point, as a normal Tuesday. Stuck at a red-light David checks his rear view mirror out of habit and notices himself driving the car behind him. Startled he keeps staring until the honking of horns breaks his concentration and he drives through the light. When David looks back, the doppelganger is gone.

Fake Movie Friday: The Mystic

So I’m in the office when I don’t have to listening to the Les Mis soundtrack for about the 54592th time and this jumped into my brain.  A 1970’s rollerskating film.

The Mystic

The Mystic is THE friday night spot for red blooded American teens in Bainesville, Indiana.  It’s a pretty boring town, without a lot of excitement, except for these friday nights.  The high schoolers all go The Mystic.  It’s the most happening rollerskating rink around.  Cue a scene of a bunch of kids rollerskating around and doing tricks while typical 70’s music plays.  DJ Goodvibes announces the star rollerskating duo, FlashFunk are about to take to the rink and perform a new routine.  It’s really really good and we pan closer to a kid watching them named Dale.  He’s a good skater, but aspires to be as good as these guys.  After they perform he asks if they can give him some pointers.  They say sure and take Dale under their wing.  This makes him more popular than he’s ever been.  He gets home late that night and his single father is pissed.  Says dancing wont get him anywhere in life blah blah blah.
