Hey Dudes, it’s Fake Movie Friday yet again, so I figured we’d start things off with a submission from a very good friend of Priest and the Beekeeper, Tarik Davis. He’s written a filmed an excellent short video that sums up almost exactly how we feel films are made these days. Also, with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter coming out in theaters today, this couldn’t be more appropriate.

Liam Neeson has a very specific set of skills. He’s the toughest older sonuvabitch in Hollywood. He’s got size and stature and actually looks like he crushes windpipes as a hobby. It comes as no surprise that the role that got him his start as the premiere older badass, that of Bryan Mills is getting the sequel treatment. Taken 2 is coming and no one is safe:
Press for this movie really seemed to slow down. With ‘Frankenweenie’ starting it’s push into the public conscious they took a step back not having Tim Burton in the credits.
I feel like there are not a lot of people that know about it. So here it is. This trailer is incredible. With this and ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ coming out, it is a great looking fall for the elusive young male demographic.
I didn’t love Monsters Inc. I thought it was cute, but it lost me at the end with the Monsters deciding to make people laugh instead of cry with fear. Maybe I’m heartless, but whatever. I did think that the monsters looked cool and that the lil girl was adorable though. So I was nervous when a Monsters Inc. prequel was greenlit. Especially considering The Incredibles still has no sequel. Anyway the fact that this Monsters film is set in college might be fun. I’d love to see Pixar’s take on what college is like through the lens of the Monsters. Could be cool, and I like this teaser.

They released a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, and my only question at this point is: Did you really need to? This movie has sold out like every screening of it’s first night already. It’s going to do a MONSTER number. While I don’t think it will beat Avengers, I do think it will capture the weekend crown. Stop spending money on dropping new trailers. I don’t even want to see a trailer at this point.

He did it again. Paul Thomas Anderson’s newest teaser for his new film The Master, has me effectively captivated. The score as well with it’s repetitive beats gets me further engrossed in the world. The teaser is 1:31 long, but has me more into it’s world than whole films.
I think this could be PTA’s big Oscar winner.

Saturday morning. I’m in the theater waiting for ‘Rock of Ages’ to start, so obviously I was pissed off. Also considering we were seeing ‘That’s My Boy’ immediately after, I was in the worst of moods.
Branded is an upcoming film featuring the talents of Leelee Sobieski, Jeffrey Tambor, Ed Stoppard and Max von Sydow. It seems to be about a dystopian future full of evil corporations and monsters. I think. It’s kinda got a Dark City vibe going for it, which I dig. The trailer and poster released for this film have tons of QR codes attached to them. In the poster found below I can spot 4, the trailer has over a dozen. My phone isn’t picking up on this QR codes, but I’m dying to find out what secrets they hold. Every year there seems to be at least a few Exorcism/Possession movies. We’ve already had The Devil Inside this year, last year there was The Rite, the year before there was The Last Exorcism (depending on your view point of that movie though it may not fit into this list at all) just to name a couple. I make sure to see these and they are almost always disappointing, though I have come to really enjoy The Last Exorcism. Even from the trailers these movies seem to follow the same formula with the same scenes repeated over a multitude of movies.
Enter Torture Chamber, an upcoming movie from Dante Tomaselli, director of Satan’s Playground, Horror and Desecration. Needless to say, I think he knows a thing or two about Satan and possession. The film stars Vincent Pastore (The Sopranos), Lynn Lowery (The Crazies), Christie Sanford (Satan’s Playground), and Ron Millkie (Friday the 13th). The trailer for this movie scared the shit out of me. I love the eerie sound mix. The trailer plays out like the wet dreams of the kids from Children of the Corn. The posters for this, released earlier today (and found below), also leave me with such and uneasy feeling that I cannot wait for this fucking film. Paul W.S. Anderson and Len Wiseman have now made a combined NINE Underworld and Resident Evil films, eight of which, star their wives. This is two things:
1) Nepotism
2) and a shame because all of the movies in either franchise are terrible late winter/early fall dumps that no one cares about, yet somehow keep getting sequels.
There are so many excellent ideas out their dying to get greenlit, much less, sequeled, but somehow we are about to get a 5th Resident Evil. I’m not even going to get into how they have gone so far off the reservation in terms of the plot of the videogames because that is a rant for another day, but this trailer looks atrocious. I used to think Milla Jovovich was better than this, but maybe she isn’t? i can’t remember the last film she made that wasn’t a P. W.S. Anderson joint.
