I really enjoy making these graphs for the site. Thought it might be interesting to take a look at the history of film titles and find some patterns. First up ‘Variations of Death’
The first films to use any of these were in the 50s
‘Death of a Salesman’ 1951
‘I Died a Thousand Times’ 1955
‘Back From the Dead’ 1957
‘The Deadly Mantis’ 1957

Thank you, but I can’t take all the credit. Some of it goes to the idiot producers who think this is a good idea.
What I really like about this graph is how it looks like the Books graph flipped. You can really tell in ’01 the shift from horror movie remakes to young adult book series. It was really sad making this and seeing the dates between original and remake get closer and closer together.

This has so much Oscar Bait on it but I’m 100% in. I could be raped, and Bill Murray star in a bio-pic of my rapist that paints him in a good light and I’d see it and love it.
Let’s take a look at the number of films based on books.
It’s actually a lot less the past 3 years than I would have expected. The reason for this is mostly if you make a movie based on a book since ‘Potter’, it better be more than one.The spikes around the early 2000s are when company’s were looking for their ‘Potter.’Not many one off (non-Sparks) novels are turned into films anymore.

Another Friday means more fake movies from your friends at MMP! We really look forward to Fridays here, probably because we hope some day someone will read one of these and think, “fuck yeah I’d like to see that!” Then they’d make it and we would talk about it on the podcast.
